• Before he was a king, he was a soldier. He was a faithful soldier, He did what Saul had asked him to do
• Before he was a soldier, he was an armor bearer for Saul. He just carried the sword.
• Before he was an armor bearer, he was a song writer and musician. When Saul was depressed, David sang and played his instrument.
• Before he was a song writer, he was a shepherd, doing his family business.
• Before he was a shepherd, he was a son, learnt to be obedient, hardworking, learned all the required skills and prepared for the future.

The costliest war in terms of human life was World War II (1939–45), in which the total number of fatalities, including battle deaths and civilians of all countries, is estimated to have been 56.4 million. But there is a war that is the war of the wars, the war that will end all war is referred to as a battle of Armageddon.

Battle of Berachah was an attack of the enemy that brought a great fear among the people of Judah during the reign of King Jehoshaphat. We read this story in 2 Chronicles 20.
We found out who were the enemies - the Moabites, and the Ammonites, and their auxiliaries. We talked about the significance of the location of the battle. We understood who was Jehoshaphat.
As Jehoshaphat was leading the army, the Lord destroyed their enemies even before the battle started. Following are the different strategies adopted in the battle by King Jehoshaphat & his army.

A mind boggling destruction of the city of Ziklag and the captivity of the wives and children of David and his men.
David was taken into the extremes of life where he ran to escape death from the hands of Saul, lost his wives as captives, his city is burnt with fire, now the men with him are about to stone him to death. What else one needs to be brought to the lowest of his / her life.
In this situation, Bible says, David strengthened himself in the Lord. Life challenges, unexpected events, worry concerning future, loss of health, loss of hope make us to get upset about our life at times.
