The Promise Granted Through Faith - Romans 4:13 - 25
Abraham was holding on to his faith in God until he received the promised blessing.
What made Abraham, the Father of many nations a Father of Faith?

1. Abraham knew his God
2. Abraham did not look at the circumstances
3. Abraham did not waver through unbelief
4. Abraham was strengthened in faith
5. Abraham was giving glory to God
6. Now he is fully convinced that God is able to perform

John 8:12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

This sermon talks about three aspects of giving our best to God as based in Malachi Chapter 1:

- Our second best does not honor God (Verse 6)
- Our second best does not please God (Verse 8)
- Our second best to God does not satisfy us (Verse 13)

We need to give the best to God. 

 

Unfortunately faith is not just believing in God, but faith is also putting what we believe in action. 

Faith without action is dead faith. James 2:17 

You and I don't have the ability to see, but God's Word has promises which haven't come true in your life. 

Because faith is  taking God at His word.

Leviticus 19:33-34 33 And if a stranger dwells with you in your land, you shall not mistreat him. 34 The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt. I am the Lord your God.

Hospitality can be defined as the quality or disposition of receiving and treating guests and strangers in a warm, friendly, generous way.

Hospitality is the most needed virtue of Christians.

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. As long as we are bound, we can’t do anything effective for God. God wants us to conquer, overcome and subdue. We are not called to fight against flesh and blood, but that's where most of our time and effort is spent.

Acts 5:14-16 14 And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. 16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

We see the transforming power of Lord Jesus Christ. The beggar was physically crippled and spiritually handicapped. But the miracle transformed the beggar both physically as well as spiritually.

The facts observed:
- Beggar was found outside the church 
- Miracle was not taking place inside the church 
- The beggar never asked for healing, but there was an expectation 
- The beggar never had to believe in Jesus for healing or do anything 
- The healing was instant - there was no time to think, debate and argue 
- That miracles drew him into the temple
